Guidelines

A public art event is hard to properly moderate, but we do our best to make sure that Leaf Scouts is a safe, fun, and overall PG environment!

Having Guidelines helps to ensure that there are positive expectations to follow when participating in Leaf Scouts. Failure to follow these guidelines for artwork and content will result in the participant being asked to remove their work from the public event or removed from the Discord server.

NSFW, "After Dark", and 18+ accounts with content that go against our Guidelines are not welcome. All accounts must be SFW.

If unsure if your content needs a warning before sharing, you can ask me (Leaf) or a moderator part of the Leaf Scouts Watch (listed further below).

Sometimes weapons will be required for a prompt, in which they will be explicitly stated as allowed. Items like hammers and knives should only be used as tools.

If a character's design is made to be intentionally scary, we highly discourage using them for Leaf Scouts. Horror-based characters are not allowed.

how we moderate:

The Leaf Scouts Watch

The Leaf Scouts Watch is Leaf Scouts' official team of moderators who monitor all public art posted under the Leaf Scouts hashtag as well as the Discord server. They make sure that the Guidelines are being followed and that participants are treating each other with respect!

The current members of the Leaf Scouts Watch are Solaris (@sollarwarrior), DragonLova (@dragonlova.art), June (@jun3bugs_), Alexa (@alexa_art6), Saffron (@saffronfur924), Clara (@claraclumsygirl), Brenna (@brenna_art561), Toad (@toadszfactory), Moochie, Rusty (@rustyorangee), and Blind (@blindboiexe).
When a member finds a post that goes against the Guidelines, has questionable content, or has concerning discussion in the comment section, they first bring it up to the whole group of moderators. Everything is run by Leaf first before taking action.
The Leaf Scouts Watch also moderates questionable content and behaviors based on our own discretion, even if said content isn't listed in the guidelines. They reserve the right to ask Leaf to add onto the guidelines if needed.

IF SOMETHING NEEDS A CONTENT WARNING

- On social media, one of the moderators will either comment or message the individual and give them two options; to either reupload the post with a content warning or remove the hashtag from the post.
- On the Discord server, the individual will be pinged by a moderator to add a spoiler filter to the image.
- If not fixed or ignored after 3 days, the individual will be added to the moderator's private "watch list" for closer supervision and none of their art will be shared by Leaf. The individual will also be kicked from the Discord server.
- If argument or harassment of moderators occurs, the individual will be added to the moderator's public "blacklist" and the individual will be blocked by Leaf from seeing the event prompts, as well as permanently banned from the Discord server.

IF SOMETHING CONTAINS PROHIBITED CONTENT

- On social media, one of the moderators (likely Leaf) will privately message the individual and ask them to change or remove the post entirely as we do not tolerate inappropriate content in our event. Much of the content we don't allow is reportable by most community guidelines. The individual may be immediately blacklisted depending on the severity of the situation.
- On the Discord server, the art will be immediately removed by a moderator. The individual may be kicked or banned from the server depending on the severity of the situation. They will be contacted either via ping or private message about why the art was removed and given a verbal warning.
- If argument or harassment of moderators occurs, the individual will be added to the moderator's public "blacklist" and the individual will be blocked by Leaf from seeing the event prompts, as well as permanently banned from the Discord server.

These are the basic protocols we follow, but each individual case may be handled slightly different depending on the situation.
